To Solve Pain Points, See Seven Highlights of XCMG Leading Technological Innovation Development of Crane Industry Part 5 Intelligent Management
Release Date: May 26, 2016

On March 9, 2016, in Seoul, Korea, an artificial intelligence robot AlphaGo challenged Lee Sedol, a world champion of the game Go, and won the first round. Then “man vs. machine competition” hit the headlines of media coverage of different countries. Artificial intelligence became a popular topic. AlphaGo let us see its strong Go skills and let us see the great charm of artificial intelligence again.

Artificial intelligence is also one of main connotations of German “Industry 4.0”. Intelligence is the irresistible trend of the industry and the manufacturing industry. As a leading enterprise in the engineering manufacturing industry, XCMG is committed to applying intelligent management technologies in the crane industry.

Intelligent management technologies

(1) Multi-terminal cross-platform remote management

As early as in 2012, XCMG has realized installation of GPS terminal in all products. Currently, the enterprise’s Internet of Things platform can conduct remote monitoring on operation parameters of each vehicle. Customers can conduct dynamic real-time monitoring on such vehicle information as location and construction information by using the intelligent manager system of mobile phone independently developed by XCMG which offers convenience for customers to realize remote machines management with mobile terminal.

(2) Health assessment and active service

At the next step, XCMG will focus on opening its production informatization platform, vehicle-mounted IOT platform and service platform. Based on vehicle construction data sent back by the IOT, big data mining and analysis are done to establish health assessment system for each crane, realizing active alert service and health diagnosis for customers.

Opening of the three platforms at the same time will have a great influence on value chain management of cranes in the full life cycle. They will be able to provide crane manufacturers with existing technical defects and define innovation directions; assist auxiliary product suppliers with supervision on components and parts services; provide customers with supervision on equipment assets and state. Thus, collaboration between many sides including construction side, user, bank, service provider, dealer, auxiliary product supplier and manufacturer will be realized, and sharing of the value chain in the full life cycle will be realized.

Sharing of the Value Chain in the Full Life Cycle

On March 15, 2016, the artificial intelligence robot AlphaGo defeated Lee Sedol from Korea in the fifth round and finally won with 4:1. From another perspective, the victory of artificial intelligence is also a great victory of human. Science fictions aside, rapid development of artificial intelligence represents rapid development of high-end technologies of human. Perhaps technologies represented by intelligent management technologies of XCMG cannot match those unscientific secret technologies. But the editor believes that XCMG will definitely lead the engineering machinery industry to leave an indelible mark in the history of development of high-end intelligent technologies.

(The Part 5 ends. The next part of “To Solve Pain Points, See the Seven Highlights of XCMG Leading Technological Innovation Development of the Crane Industry” is coming soon.)
