On September 3, 2019, the " Top 50 Summit of World Construction Machinery Industry" sponsored by China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA), Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (KOCEMA) was held in Beijing, and over 800 people from 13 countries attended.

XCMG, leader in the construction machinery industry of China, ranked the 6th in the list of "2019 Top 50 Global Construction Machinery Manufacturers" published at the summit. It has been the top runner among all domestic construction machinery manufacturers for 20 consecutive years, once again demonstrating its strength as the pillar of a great power.

Strong gets stronger, breaking the global monopoly pattern!

More than 10 lists were released at the summit, including "2019 Top 50/100 Global Construction Machinery Manufacturers" and "100 Most Influential Persons of China Construction Machinery Industry in 2019".

Wang Min, Chairman and Party Secretary of XCMG, was honored with "2019 Global Construction Machinery Industry Contribution Award" and "100 Most Influential Persons of China Construction Machinery Industry in 2019".

Twenty years ago, the global construction machinery field was dominated by the United States, Europe and Japan. At that time, XCMG was the only Chinese enterprise to make the top 50 among global construction machinery manufacturers, ranking the 29th, very weak and controlled by others. Nowadays, this monopoly pattern has been broken by Chinese construction machinery enterprises headed by XCMG. Total sales of 12 Chinese enterprises on the list reaches 29.8 billion dollars.

Ranking the 6th in the global list, XCMG has shown competitive development advantages and momentum in various industrial sectors, creating unlimited value for customers. At the subsequent forums, XCMG, together with other manufacturers, suppliers, dealers and customers from all over the world, conducted in-depth interaction and exchanged views on common problems and technology innovation, discussed new trends in future development, and found solutions to new challenges.

Breakthroughs in high-end markets and has voice among international powers

In addition to the attention-attracting large equipment that set the world height and major records, Chinese brands have also achieved substantial breakthroughs in more high-end and intelligent construction machinery products.

Sun Jianzhong, Vice President of XCMG Machinery and General Manager of Crane Division, delivered a keynote speech.

In his keynote speech, Vice President Sun said that how to thoroughly implement independent innovation and key core technology is the primary challenge for China's construction machinery industry and the consistent strategy of XCMG. XCMG has always been focusing on three points: 1) to make breakthroughs in high-end independent innovation and achieve global leadership 2) to make breakthroughs in overcoming homogenization and win the global market with differentiated products; 3) to make breakthroughs in industrial transformation and ensure excellent quality with intelligent manufacturing.

XCMG concept of "Leading Technology, Durable Products" helps promote innovation, and high-end market breakthroughs. In 2018, sales revenue of XCMG two competitive products, namely cranes and earthmoving machinery, both exceeded RMB 10 billion respectively. Key technologies in a number of innovative products were at the forefront of the world. In 1999, there were only 6 patents in XCMG. At present, XCMG has 7062 valid authorized patents, 1570 patents for invention and 53 international patents for PCT. XCMG has presided over and participated in the formulation of 6 international standards as well as 211 national and industrial standards.

So far, XCMG has achieved major technological breakthroughs in high-end construction machinery. Moreover, it has also developed more original advanced technologies in new energy, new materials, artificial intelligence and unmanned control. XCMG products are highly favored in high-end markets, including the United States, Germany and Australia.

Expand overseas market

With further promotion of the national “Belt and Road” Initiative, more and more Chinese construction machinery manufacturers are recognized by foreign users. But some enterprises encounter awkward situation in localization.

At the forum of "Deep into China & Towards the World", Vice President Wang said, benefiting from China’s reform and opening-up policy, Chinese construction machinery enterprises, including XCMG, continue to learn the technology and management of international benchmarks and grow rapidly in the most open environment of the world. In the future, domestic and foreign construction machinery manufacturers should "do as the Romans do", "tailor" their products from the perspective of customer segmentation, provide more solutions to meet customer needs, promote the localization of service and spare parts, and further control the cost to maximize the benefits.

At present, XCMG owns R&D centers, manufacturing bases and KD factories in more than 10 countries, including Germany, Brazil, the United States and India, and it has acquired three European enterprises, e.g., Germany Schwing. The actual investment in the countries along the "Belt and Road" Initiative exceeds 3 billion yuan, and its products are exported to 183 countries, covering 97% of those countries. XCMG has become a world-renowned "Made-in-China Business Card" with the largest export share in 35 countries as well as the highest annual export volume and overseas income in China.
